It's been my Go To rust preventative for over 30 years and it has served well, above and beyond the highest expectations for me.
Who else uses this wonderful stuff?

No doubt a good product based on comments here but is it any better than many others? I've seen good results for the last fifty years or so giving guns a wipedown with a soft cloth impregnated lightly with whatever product I have on hand and that's been a variety. I do this after cleaning or at least annually if a gun hasn't been used.
Did it flake off right away? The website says safe on 99percent finishes so it's possible
I put 2 coats IIRC and noticed flakes coming off on the second coat.
It only messed up the clear and not the CCH.
I haven't done anything to it since other than keeping it oiled.
Some of the older guns, like Marlin for instance, put a factory clear coat over the case hardened finish. Renaissance wax is good as a protective coating on case colors. I also use CLP and haven't had any problems.
