Elegant little J frames.

Those are nice guns and are pleasant to shoot. I traded for a 31-2 from a forum member a while back. I wanted to keep it, but gave it to my grandson instead.

One can never have too many I and J Frame guns. Very neat!

Nothing like a few little S&Ws to add some class to the place! My littlest niece (physically as well as age-wise) charmed me out of a 30-1 that I STILL miss a couple of years later. Along with their predecessors, the I-frames, these little J-frames just "warm the cockles of my heart."

How do you find guns @ garage sales?

I just asked them and they were reluctant at first. The lady said she wasn't comfortable selling me a gun because she didn't know me. Then I asked her if it would help if I were a retired cop and showed her my badge. She perked right up and said "Yes!". She went into the garage and came back with a box. First she pulled out a blue S&W box and my heart skipped a beat. Then she pulled out a little zippered gun bag. Inside it was the little 36-1. She even had the only box of ammo that was ever bought for it and it was missing only 5 rounds. She had been trying to figure out what to do with the gun, so we were both happy!

I too love I and J frames. I have a 2" 31-1 just like yours. Here's my favorite, the younger brother of the your model 31, the model 631 in .32 H&R Magnum with factory smooth rosewoods:
