I get this package in the mail today. I see it's from the NRA. I didn't order anything from them, but I know what's coming next.
I open the package, and find this hideous looking hat.
Along with the hat is the usual form asking for money. The NRA probably spent $10.00 for the hat, and to mail it. Now in the weeks to come, I will get all these follow up letters from the NRA wanting money, because they sent me a "cool" hat.
You couldn't pay me to wear this hat.
I tried it on the dog. He growled, and ran away with his tail between his legs. He'll come back when he's hungry. I hope he forgives me. (Just kidding about the dog)
Anyone want a free hat? The first "I'll take it" followed by a PM, and I will send it to you.
You just have to promise to wear it, and post a pic if you DARE! :D

P.S. the dog is flee/tic free. :)

:) You can request not to get all the junk mail from the NRA. It seems to work pretty good. I get very little mail from them. Don

Works for me, too. I requested no mail after an "NRA Partner" sent me a DVD "on approval". They sent me threatening letters demanding I pay for it until I pointed out that since I didn't order it, and they sent it, the State of Oklahoma considers it a gift. ;) Now I get only renewal notices, and not nearly as many of those.

That is kinda hideous.Just curious, where was it made?

You can still buy Made in the U.S.A. Hats from Imperial Headwear out of Denver Co. They are online.
Good ball caps if you wear one.

I received one of those ugly hats today also. What were they thinking?

It's too bad you didn't have this with you on Saturday- I could have sold that "bling" down on 8-Mile on the way home. :D

Nice dog!

Definitely an ugly hat... I think I'll have to pass. Thanks for the warning though... should I get any unexpected packages from the NRA will just refuse them and let them be returned to the sender.

I tried a "Return to Sender" of some NRA junk and postal service returned it to me saying the "return" right on it didn't exist---NRA must have some sort of one-way junk mail contract.

I realize we NRA members are accused of being in the tin foil hat club, but this is going too far.

I was going to ask where it was made when I saw the first post. I don't remember the NRA sending me anything, only promising to give me some cheap worthless trinkets if I join, it aint gonna happen. Chinese "one size fits all" hats don't fit my fat, non-socialist head, which is good, they'll probably give the wearer cancer.

No problem, we don't have NRA in Sweden so i wouldn't be ashamed to wear it.
If you still have it up for grabs ;)

It would be a great conversation piece :D

I have several NRA hats that are far more elegant and wearable than that one.
Regarding the "Made in China" label, the NRA-like many other organizations-contract with merchandisers who specialize in producing mass orders with logos on them, who inturn use foreign suppliers as the cheapest. I suspect the NRA could-or should-specify "Made in USA" and pay more.
