I have one that fits that description. 3rd Generation S&W autos have never been my favorites. I've owned a few and could just never warm up to them.

Recently, I found this police trade-in @ $249 with one 14 round magazine. They started out with approximately 150 of them. I bought the last one after leaving them on the shelf a few times.

It is a 5906. It has one job at my house which is to remain loaded with 127 +P+ Winchester Ranger hollowpoints hidden yet accessible. It feeds any ammo I've tried without a hitch. But, it still hasn't grown on me anymore than the others did in the past. But, it is the "out of sight " not "out of mind" pistol inside my house.

I posted this here because I want to hear from everyone if they have anything that fits this criteria. Long gun or handgun, what have you got???

I have a LNIB 3913LS that I picked up cheap. Don't like it - can't shoot it worth a darn. I am a good shot with all of my other autos and revolvers. Can't bring myself to get rid of it since everyone says how great they are and what a good deal I got on it.

When I was a kid I fell into bad company. I was"adopted" by 3 brothers, all
older than me. They never bought anything but Remingtons. My family was
Winchester& Browning. But to keep up with the "Jones" I had to have what
they had. Remington 1100s, 870s, 700s, 742s, 760s and 700s. In a few years
I went back to my roots, Win. & Browning. That was in the 60s. For some
reason I still have the 870 Wingmaster. It was bought as a slug gun, has had
less than 50 rds. through it. My main deer slugger was A-5 Browning. I never
warmed up to the 870 but still got it. Maybe just as a reminder of the old
Gang,

Yes, I have. Last fall I bought a S&W M&P40 VTAC. I love the look and feel and it shoots OK considering the crappy trigger they come with but it has no Soul.(And why should I have to spend a couple of hundred bucks to buy an aftermarket firing system to make it right) That and the fact that the only two magazines that fall free without dragging them out are the two that came with it (out of the 10 or so I own). It is a beautiful unit and I want to like it but I have a boat load of money in it. (like my home mortgage, I am underwater on it.)and somehow I don't think there will ever come a time when someone will be willing to pay 3 or 4 times what they sold for new (like we do for older S&W or Colt revolvers) Maybe I shoulda bought a HiPoint, then when I decided it was junk, I could have used it for a Duck Decoy anchor or maybe a weight on a down rigger! Rant mode off! GB

You got a great gun at a great price. Certainly at that price it is perfect for the use you have put it to. It is absolutely reliable, almost indestructible, and relatively accurate with a lot of fire power. If it gets stolen you are not out much money.

Congratulations!

Third generations S&W are my absolute favorite semi-auto loaders.

A Taurus 22 revolver. 3 trips back to the factory in Florida. It seems fine at the moment but I have no confidence in it at all. I couldn't live with myself if I sold it knowing what someone unspecting person was geting. It looks good though.

I have a beautiful Remington 700 BDL 30-06 and I love how the gun handles and shoots and the wood is really pretty. But I like to do a lot of shooting and general plinking with all my guns and that recoil takes away the fun.

When I was a pharma rep I took groups of docs to TM Ranch (a local sporting clays facility that has since closed) for "lunch." I bought a Fabarms "Sporting Clays Gold Lion" autoloader as a loaner. Must have put 10k rounds of "AA" light loads through it in a short time. Haven't had it out of the safe in almost 10 years. I would sell it but it brings back happy memories. Well except for the time my then 12 year old smashed a golf cart into a doctor's car and cost me $2K (half my quarterly bonus!) to repair it. Joe

Yep. I bought a Sig 1911-22 to compliment my Sig TacOps 1911. The finish began chipping away on the first outing, plus its just not anywhere near as accurate as it should be. After I purchased it I found out it isn't made by Sig Sauer at all, it is made by GSG. Now I need to refinish the thing just to sell it.

I have a Star Firestar that I bought for concealed carry, but the grip shape is just all wrong for my hands to draw it and get on target quickly. On the range it shoots great, but it is no use to me as a carry gun.

I also have a few milsurp rifles in this category, the good news being
I paid low money for them. Mostly it's bedding issues that mean they don't shoot well. Otherwise they are typical examples of their type, which I guess is OK from a collecting standpoint.

I bought a Beretta tomcat and the frame cracked the first time out. I sent it back and they replaced it with an inox version. That was several years ago and it sits in my safe unfired. I should probably try to sell it but I'm not sure anyone would want it. Guess I could use it as a paper weight.

I have a high point, goes bang every time I pull the trigger, hits what I aim at. Heavy, fuggly, don't feel right but goes bang every time I pull the trigger.... that's all I want for a truck gun, pull it out every 3 months or so , clean it , new ammo and back to sleep locked up in the truck. Wouldn't treat my Smiths like that.

Yes, I have had 2 handguns and one small caliber rifle I never warmed up to. All of them are gone.

Norinco 9mm. Chinese copy of a Russian pistol.Old as the hills and ugly as sin and the smith I asked to replace the safety said he would but it would fall out quickly just as the original did. But this pistol has never had a FTF. No matter what fodder I feed it, it always runs. Cannot be sure of hitting a 12" target @ 15 ft but will scare the heck outta someone long enough to get the Glocks, Smiths or one of the several Rugers scattered about the house, garage, vehicle. And no one wants to steal it!
