Ever sell a S&W and regret it?

Probably the most incredibly stupid thing I ever did was trade my S&W Model 19 2 1/2'. I lusted after that gun for years and then got rid of it on a trade and don't even remember what I traded it for! I don't miss the Model 659 I got rid of, only gun that felt worse than a big frame Glock in my hand. Also got rid of a Model 60 along time ago but don't miss it that much.

I've traded/sold several. The only ones I truly regret were a 6.5 " 624 and a 6" nickel 25-5 in presentation case. The latter is more of an "oh what it'd be worth today!" regret, but I sure miss that 624.

Except for guns that have some serous sentimental value, I'm not big on keeping guns I don't use regularly.

I guess we all have but rarely have a chance to get them back. Congratulations!

Nope and I hope to never need to but congratulations on getting yours back, they look very nice!

Yes, a Model of 1955 6.5" model 25. Went to a forum member so that is a bonus. Sure wish I would have kept it though.

Yes. Over 20 years ago sold a 686 and a 649. I've also sold cars, motorcycles etc that I regret Don't lose any sleep over it though. Have made much worse decisions in my life with more significant consequences.

I am lucky. I bought a BG38 to replace my chiefs special. I did not trade that gun and its a finer piece than the BG. So no, I have never sold a S&W. I have a nice 25-5 Model of 1989 I hope to pass on to my son along with the chiefs special.

I am going through very hard times right now with a illness with my wife. And I have sold off a lot of my guns. And yes I regret selling all of them, but in the long run, my wife is worth it. Good Luck to the OP for being able to buy back his guns, you should do something extra nice for your friend, people like him are HARD to find. Ray

My M520. Should have rented that guy my (ex)wife instead. And a Gen 2 Glock 17. I should have sold something else instead of that. It was dead nuts reliable, didn't eject to my face, etc. Try to get one that good now.:(

When I first got my carry permit my first "carry gun" was a brand new 640-1 (first J-MAGNUM). Some years later I decided I needed an auto for carry and had to sell it to get what I wanted more at the time. THAT gun is long gone but I wish I still had that 640

Me too. Like who hasn't? About 10 years ago I sold a buddy a LNIB 18-3 that shipped with magna type stocks and TT and TH. I really regretted it since I did it and I'd think about it every time I saw him. One day I ran across him at the LGS and decided I had nothing to lose. I told him that I always regretted selling it and to my amazement he said, "Well come get it!" I asked what he wanted for it and he said whatever I sold it for. I told him that I couldn't sleep at night if I didn't give him more. He said give me what you think. I tried to give him more and he insisted that I only give him 100.00 more. I went by his house tonight and he asked if I wanted the stainless one I sold him too. I had completely forgotten the other one. He said " look since you insisted on giving me more just take both of them!" I'm gonna make it right, but look what I got tonight. Good friend, good night!

Now that's a buddy!
