Photoman44, you made me drool all over my keyboard.
What can you tell me about the grips on the bottom revolver in post #9?
I really like them. They look like either a wooden version of the Uncle Mike's rubber grips or a woodgrain colored version of the Uncle Mike's grips.
I'd like to have a set.
As far as how J frames shoot. I own a 31-1, and have owned a Rossi 68 (36 copy) and own 3 (including my wife's) Taurus 85s (J frame size).
None of them shoot like a Python/L-frame/OP-OM/27/14/etc.
They aren't priced like one, nor are they intended to shoot like them.
They're not high-end target guns.
They're high-end CC SD/BU guns, and they perform their intended roles marvelously. In fact, all J frames/J frame lookalikes I've ever shot shot better than their intended purpose.
I am somewhat biased toward small frame DA revolvers. My favorite capgun as a boy was a Chief's Special.
It's a size that just feels so right.
With good grips and a steel frame, I don't get all the hype about how "hard" they are to shoot. I've owned more J sized revolvers than any other frame size. I like them a lot.
I really need to get off my can and try to catch up with Photoman44's collection.
