Looks like Beryl will strengthen again over the Gulf and come ashore near Corpus Christi some time Sunday night. Time to lay in the bottled water, snacks, and sandbags I reckon.
xfuzz may be too busy to answer.
What's amazing is the eye is predicted to pass almost directly over me all the way up here in Central Arkansas. A storm that originated off the coast of Africa, then crossed the entire Atlantic Ocean, is bringing 2-4 inches of rain all the way to Arkansas! Mother Nature is one mean ole gal!
Frankly, I will take anything that breaks this heat. It has been unbelievable so far this summer.
We, here in North Texas, are getting our share of the rain right now. Sounds like choir music coming from the garden.
Well Galveston did that jog to the East.
Pealed most of the Vinal siding off the house(been wanting to replace with Hadrie plank anyway) and most of the soffits.
Windows and roof held.
Yards all around are a complete mess.
Sand dunes gone.
Power out on the island likely for days.
I will NEVER ride out another one...heavy pucker factor
at it's peak.
Only about 8-9 inches of water under the house.
Power still out at my Piney Woods place.
Hooked to my Daughters just east of Austin.
Nasty double dealin' so and so.Power out on the island likely for days.

When the lines are downed there isn't much they can do. Might start replacing these with underground lines.
