Evolution of My M&P9

Okay, since this has been about mod's and personalization, I gotta ask.... I've seen a Smith 4.25" M&P9 2.0 in pics on the interweb's... Wearing a Crimson Trace laser grip laser.... I contacted Crimson Trace in hopes of a great laser grip... Nope! They suggest Rail Master, as in their words "they do not plan on persuing the M&P 2.0's" So what do you think gives?
It was a 2.0 with a well fitting laser module... Was someone crafty in hand fitting a "legacy" one? I would love a green CT laser module.... I believe the photographs were featured in Shooting Times....

Well, my speculation goes like this.

Since S&W dropped the beavertail the contours around the frame may have changed enough where the 1.0 doesn't fit properly along with the change in texture.

There is also the trend to rail mounted lasers and slide mounted red dots. Perhaps they're just seeing where the market goes.

That is a real shame. The laser on my 1.0c is the best of all our pistols. I have laser grips of 3 different generations on Beretta 92s, a rail master on another 92, rail master on several ARs, we had a rail laser w/ the button under the trigger guard on my wife's G19, that same type on a keltec also. They work fine but take room inside the trigger guard no matter how thin I sand them. All I can say is that, if I ever need the gun and laser, it would be real nice if it comes on automatically when I grip the gun. I may need to buy another 1.0c and laser just to have on the shelf.
