And to that I say; Thank you, sir. Regardless of what was attached to your shoulder boards or sleeve.

No war time service.

I served my time and got payed.I did a good job.

I ETS'd and didn't re-up.

I don't have service related injuries and won't accept what others deserve more.

I feel the same way some 30 years later.

Pay it forward,

No brag, just fact. Carry-on indeed....

I saw your OP before you edited it.
I hope you didn't get me wrong.I'd never call you or any other vet a braggart.I like your post about your time in.My stories are rather dull.
About my first post,I know a guy that was kicked out for stupidity and had his own business that goes to the vet hospital for anything and everything. He thinks somehow he's earned it.I think I did my service time with dedication to the Army but feel like I can take care of myself. The resources could be much better used on others.

To me it's the least I can do for my fellow soldiers that weren't as fortunate as me.

Excerpt from email from Lowes, 11/15/2011:

"Military veterans who fall into a category other than active, retired, reserve or disabled receive Military Discount on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day weekends."
