Hi guys, during a training match and a lot of malfunctions, I realized that I was missing the extractor, plunger and spring... After reading the posts it looks like the Volquartsen exact edge extractor is a good option. I would like to know from where I can get the spring and plunger that go with it.
I also saw that Tacticool22 does have a srping and plunger. Are those compatible with the Volquartsen ?

Thanks!

Tacticool22 as well as Tandemkross parts will work with the Volquartsen extractor. You can also call S&W customer service and they usually will send the parts for free.

Thanks, cjt50. I live in Argentina, so no lifetime warranty for me... I ordered the Tacticool22 3 part kit and the Volquartsen extractor.

I did have this problem early on but did install a Volquartsen extractor with a Volquartsen barrel. I also see that TandemKross has a lot of upgrades for the Victory .22, many of which I have used. Their trigger upgrade is awesome. I have had no issues since, about three years now.

I don't consider the S&W extractor to be the problem. The trouble with blown extractors is the quality of ammo. I've blown the extractor about 4 times. This was at a time when I shot 60K Remington Golden Bullets a year.

Remington Golden Bullets is inconsistent and unreliable IMHO. The velocity ranged between subsonic, high velocity and hyper velocity. A friend and I shot about 1/2 of the 60K rounds out of our 15-22s. He also blew the extractor, plunger and plunger spring out of the bolt a couple times. In every case of a lost extractor, the RGB case blew apart. It was because of an over charged cartridge. The blown case took the extractor parts with it. It happened even more with my open bolt 22LR SMG.

22 LR ammo is an inconsistent cartridge at best just by the method of loading it in mass quantity. When we use quality brands like Blazer, CCI SV and CCI MM, we have not had an extractor blow out.

I'm curious strobro32, did you use Smith & Wesson extractor replacements or a 3rd party vendor's?

I used a Tacticool22, Volq and S&W. I have not needed to install the 5th. The S&W extractor has been in for the last 2 years w/o problem. The replacements were spread over 3 - 15-22s with my latest 15-22 pistol not needing a replacement since I don't shoot RGB anymore.

The 22LR SMG needed about 4 Ruger 10/22 extractor assemblies replaced. :)

I've had 4-15-22s. Love them. Recommend them every chance I get.
