Favorite Breakfast?

I usually eat something quick and easy...typically high in calories and no nutritional value, such as a danish, cake, a donut, pie, etc. I like my sweets in the morning.

I often eat dessert for breakfast, a cooked breakfast for lunch, and cereal for dessert after dinner. Works for me.

High protein, high animal fat:

Eggs (fried, scrambled)

Bacon / Sausage

Salsa

Cheese

Sprinkle Cayenne

I'd eat this every morning. And sometimes do. :)

I'd be in for any of the above breakfasts in a heart beat. I love (good) grits and chicken fried steak. Unfortunately in upstate NY it's hard to find true southern versions.

But my all-time favorite is....

There's a small diner in the next town over that makes these light, fluffy Belgium waffles that are amazing. They top them with vanilla ice cream and a fresh, warm strawberry or blueberry compote sauce. This IS the breakfast of champions!

When my boys were younger we spent many Sunday mornings there and it was always for the Belgium waffles al a mode!

Hummmm...I think I know where tomorrow's breakfast will be!!!

How about fresh creek shrimp made with gravy and served over grits ,warm buttery toast and coffee.I am speaking of homemade shrimp and gravy in the old fashioned way and not what the "new chefs" around Charleston make which is their own interpretation and considerably overworked.More often eggs over easy, bacon, sausage and grits with biscuit, toast and coffee.Another good one is fried bream, redbreast or catfish and grits.I am getting hungry.

As I type my wife is making pancakes, thick cut bacon and eggs.

It'll do
