Favorite Holiday Bourbon

My everyday is Makers Mark but I get out the better stuff during holidays or special occasions. Eagle Rare, Jefferson’s Ocean, Buffalo Trace or Blanton. My wife just found a 750ml bottle of Blantons that she had bought for my birthday in June but hid it away in her studio and forgot it. Will be a great thanksgiving.

My favorite holiday bourbon is Early Times. Not because it's the best, but because it is what my grandfather drank. Kinda my way to remember him.

I've tried many of the big (expensive) name brands, but my preference keeps coming back to Jim Beam and Jim Beam Black.

With craft brewers having become a trend in recent years, my holiday go-to is Original Appalachian Whiskey. Distilled, barreled, aged, and bottled just 30 miles north of me. It's a labor of love for them, one I bought myself last year is hand labeled by the bottler, Batch 15, Aged 7 years.

If it's not available, I'll grab a Bulleit.

Makers Mark is good, Knob Creek better, but I recently tried Buffalo Trace, and that may have moved the needle some……

I tried Elijah Craig recently, outstanding. I've heard good things about Buffalo Trace, need to try that one.

A customer gave me a fifth of Makers Mark. After working outside today in the cold, I may crack it open tonight.

Teetotaler here. I've seen the consumption of alcohol ruin too many lives. But, I'm not a prude about it, I just don't abide.

My favorite bourbon is the same 365 days a year. Old Forester 100 proof Signature Brand. Has a unique taste and a nice aroma instead of the funky pond water smell of all the common bourbons.

Jim Beam Black 7 year for Rye it's Rittenhouse bonded 100 proof.....warm the soul.

I never acquired a taste for liquor. As a dyed in the wool beer guy I will gladly raise a proper pint to all who imbibe in their chosen creature comforts be they liquid or otherwise.

I tried Elijah Craig recently, outstanding. I've heard good things about Buffalo Trace, need to try that one.

If you find it buy it. It is one of those that is rationed out by the state to the ABC stores. Hard to get in these here Blue Ridge Mtns. The small airline bottles are easier to find at the ABC stores than the big bottles.

My young hunting friend brought a bottle of Bullit to SD this year. i thought it had a sweet fragrance. I prefer Crown Royal for all occasions.

That’s an easy one . Although I currently have a few bottles open that I’m enjoying my Favorite one is Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. If there’s anyone here who hasn’t tried it yet I would highly recommend it. You will Not be disappointed!

Maker's Mark is my favorite, but during the holidays I buy some Four Roses single barrel. Good stuff.
