Favorite Non S & W Handgun?

Well, not necessarily a favorite, but it has history. I inherited Dad's Walther P-38 German army sidearm he brought back from Europe in WW-II. It was built by Spreewerk under license, in 1944. I've owned it since 2001, when Dad passed away, but never fired it until a few weeks ago.

I put 6 rounds through it just to see what it was like. It was fun, but I felt odd at the same time. I felt that it's more a piece of history than a firearm. When I got home, I carefully cleaned it, and returned it to it's holster.

Tough decision.

Either my Glock 36 or my Sig P 239 in self loader, and Ruger Sp-101 3.62" barrel as my revolver choice.

Pure love in the hand....... Browning Hi-Power (add a Ciener .22lr conversion kit if you can)

Practical carry..... the Beretta 92s in Single stack 8+1 Type-M ( with the right grips feels a lot like a S&W 39).

I also like the 92 Compact and Centurion models......... no failures to feed, fire or eject since 1988! With Megar mags. ... the Centurion is at 17/18 plus 1.

Point of order: despite Beretta's names and marketing........ I consider the Centurion and the Compact...... full size guns......

Favorite non s&w handgun?

Ruger redhawk in 44mag.
Norinco 1911a1 race ready built & tweeked by me.
Colt officer target 22 on the 41 frame. Heavy but I love it.
S&W K22 now here's the S&W quality at its finest.
Swedish M40 pistol in 9mm luger/parabellium.
Stoeger luger 22cal all steel frame.

Ok I'm a morman when it comes to guns I have many loves.

That's an easy question for me to answer, as this is the only pistol I own that isn't a S&W.

I've owned it for around eighteen years I think. Shoots like a dream & I used it for my CCW classes & test a few years back. BHP's are hard to beat!:D

I would like to know what some of you might not want to tell--but I hope you will--what is your favorite non-S & W handgun?

Springfield Armory GI 1911-A1. Just a very well made pistol. Got it used little over a year ago. Got a nice "Pike rig" to go with it, i.e., Austin style holster w/ matching belt produced by R. H. Beck of Gilbert, Arizona. Wonderful pistol for the range and the woods. Got a Marvel .22 LR 1911 conversion unit that I use with it. Nicely accurate and much less expensive to shoot.
