Favorite Range Gun?

My favorite range gun is a very homely Model 28-2 that a previous owner had evidently kept stored in a barn.

What it lacks in looks it makes up for in performance. I shoot it often at 50 yards to almost 0 yards. :)

How it looks now:

This is how it looked before I cleaned it up.

My bought new in 1994 686-4 6" is my most fired Smith centerfire revolver ever. It has fired a lot of good targets over the years at 25 and 50 yards.

Picked up a used 617-5 6" in 2021 and in that short of time is most likely my most fired Smith revolver ever! Incredibly accurate , the only revolver that gives my Model 41 competition at the range.

My 617-1 4" and Model 41 5.5" are my other favorite range guns.

I always take a variety of calibers and firearms. One that goes most of the time with the others is the M&P 15-22. Usually my Shield 9MM, Beretta 92F, one of my .38 S&W revolvers, either a Ruger SR22 or Model 63 and one other .22 rifle.

Still my favorite after nearly 30 years of ownership. Mike Curtis accurized 1911. Between the wonderful glass rod break trigger, the sewing machine like feel and the accuracy, it is the best I own to shoot.

This 25-10 chambered in 45 Colt has become my favorite range/plinking handgun.

There might be more than 1 Marlin and a couple Winchester lever actions somewhere around here, but this BLR Lightweight Takedown chambered in 308 Winchester is really fun to shoot.

I like it enough that I had this case made for it:

I should have included the 22 LR plinkers. Cheap to shoot and I never have to think about picking up cases:
Colt Officers Model 22 Long Rifle (1930s)
Ruger Mk II
Ruger 10/22 Takedown
