Favorite range revolver????

What are my favorites?? Hmmm, I can’t say as I currently have a favorite.
It’s usually the most recent purchase since that’s the one that gets the most range time for a while. So, currently it’s my newest 25-2 that shoots absolutely wonderful right on out to 25 yards with excellent accuracy.

Spur of the moment, my 1948 vintage K-22 gets the nod... grab the gun and a bulk box of ammo and I'm good for the afternoon. The list of "favorites" goes on and on, but what actually gets shot most (by this lazy old geezer) is the easiest to prepare for and clean up after.

Range favorite

I would have to say that it is a toss up between two King Targets. One is a pre-war heavy duty, and the other is a very scarce 1950 Military 44HE.

I got the 38/44 first and it will always have a slight edge as it led me down the path of King guns. The 44 is just extra cool because they only produced about 2100 total of this model (and 44 Special is just too cool on it's own  )

I'm not sure which is my favorite, but I am about to head to the range with 3 three of them. I'll try to make up my mind. No guarantees though. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Odd man out, here, as usual. Since 62% of mine are snubbies and they get 90+% of the range time I have to pick one of them. I'd like to tell you it's one of the Chiefs, but it has to be the 1958 Model 31 Regulation Police in .32 Long. I-frame, square butt, target hammer and trigger. Is there any recoil? Not sure. My smile probably masks it, just as it did 58 years ago when my grandmother taught me to shoot hers like this.

One hand, seven yards, double action. No single hole, here, but always on the money.

Nostalgia? Yeah, okay, maybe a bit.

My favorite for the past five years or so has been my Md 681. It edges out both my 686s in accuracy (in my hand) and trigger pull in both single and double action. After these three would come my Md 15 snub.

What is this world coming to? Nobody has mentioned the venerable K-38 Masterpiece. You can't miss with one of those ... really. They are so good that people try to stick "Target" in the name. I looked for and failed to find a photo of mine, so can somebody please post one and let these folks know what a real range gun looks like. ;)

This is a no brainer for me. My favorite range gun is my Model 19-3 "Combat Magnum." It is such a joy to shoot. I shoot it 95% of the time double-action with such satisfying results. I shoot this handgun better than any handgun I've ever shot. Love my "Combat Magnum."

Thanks for looking at my favorite handgun, my Combat Magnum.

God bless,
