Hi:
Packed up some rifle ammo and cartridge cases in a proper shipping carton (Remington Arms shipping carton)today.
Went to the Fed-X Hub Office. Explained to the clerk what I was shipping. The clerk went into "Panic Mod". Went in back to check with Her Supervisor. Thirty minutes later She returned and said I would need a "Shipping Declaration" from the receiver who the package was going to. I thanked Her, left and went to the UPS Office. Explained to the clerk what I was shipping. She walked me though making the shipping label on the UPS computor and applied UPS shipping tape (Mine was not the correct type). She then used a "Magic Marker" to write "Small Arms Ammo-OK" on all sides of the carton, weighed it, charged $10.49, and said "Have a Nice Day". I was out in ten minutes.
I had a "Run Around from Fed-X in the past when I returned a Model 642 to Smith and Wesson for repairs even when S&W send Me the shipping carton and paper work.
UPS will be getting My business hencesforth.

I shipped some handgun ammo this week via FedEx from one of their hubs and had absolutely no problem. The buyer provided the shipping sticker and all I did was tape it to the box. The sticker had the obligatory "ORD-M" on the label. I guess it depends on the individual clerks you are dealing with.
