Feelings on no interchangable backstraps on the Shield?

The gun looks great but I'm kinda bummed that there are no interchangable backstraps. That was a major factor in my FS M&P purchase. Anyone else feel the same?

Interchangeable backstraps make a good deal of sense on a double-stack handgun , on account of the width of the grip.

Single stack by nature of its narrower design fits a good deal more hands . A practical example is the Model 1911-ladies have no trouble shooting a full size 1911, but a double stack Beretta 92 doesn't fit the fairer sex's hand. Thus, for a firearm built as a single stack that is meant to be as concealable as possible there isn't a need for it.

I agree with Silver. If you really want the interchangeable grips you could go for the 9c/40c. One of the main points of making this gun is its size, or lack there of, and someone putting a larger backstrap on would kinda defeat the purpose and ultimately just give you a 9c/40c. Just my opinion on it.

+1 Thats the key. Plus I have medium hands, but on the small size of medium - so even without trying it out I'm confident it will fit me fine (bought one today on Gunbroker)

Felt the same at first about the backstraps. But the more you think about, I agree, not so practical with a single stack.

If the lack of straps might be an issue for you I'd say wait until they're readily available at the LGS and go hold both before dropping $400 on a gun.
