Nice Shootn! Wish I lived in an area where I could shoot live targets :D. Oh well, will have to stick to the steel & paper ones:(

Such a cute little critter and now the rodent population explodes... :)

i see some where in the order of 10-15 of them a day out here,,, just there usually smart enough that they don't get within range and don't say in sight long when they know your there

I'm sorry, but shooting an animal that's not threatening you or that you don't intend to eat is - well - wrong.

He wasn't shooting someones dog. Google the damage they can do and look at what they eat. I don't go around shooting animals just for fun either but make exceptions for Coyotes or anything damaging my property.

my ex (sons mother) lost two cats to them,,, my mother who lives next door lost her cat and a small dog to them,,,,, the people on the other side of her lost all there ducks and chickens wich is also why we dont have any more,,,,, also i like to deer hunt and well,,,, its not they coyote and deer play nice together

that and im sick of picking up all the mess left behind every time they get in our dumpster

i also shoot possum and dont eat them either

as well as bob cat

one more thing,,,,,,, my son is only 3yo and walks from my house to my moms quite often,, he plays out side a lot,,,, the neibor kids also play out side as well and there 2 and 3, coyotes will attack people

on a side note

there not indigenous to this area and have no natural predator and just like feral hogs,,,,,, they are a major problem and need to be eradicated

Good job on the 'yote. They are predatory and can do immense amounts of destruction, and prey on small farm animals and pets.
I certainly don't want to see another species become extinct, but with coyotes, there's no danger of that.I remember when they didn't exist in my AO at all.
We are now overwhelmed with them.
My property adjoins a State Wildlife Mgt area.I have nailed quite a few of them. The Rangers want them shot. There's just too many of them. A good .22 will do the job cheaply.I have used CCI mini mags with good success for shots inside 50 yards or so.

Just ignore the people who say it's wrong to shoot coyotes. They have no idea.

I had a dog on a chain and it got attacked. Big hairless bloody spots spots all over. Had to put it down after that. So let that happen to a pet of yours and see if you feel the same way about killing them.

To each his own, but I'm betting you never lived in coyote country, or ground hog country, or rock chuck country or other area where these animals wreak havoc on just about ever other living creature - most of whom are protected.

In most states, it's open season on them for reason.

I don't intend to eat rats or moles, but I kill every one I can.

you guys do realize that there are a lot of people not just on this forum site,, but on many who never have/will never have that feeling of pulling the trigger on a live target

doing so is much more exciting then just putting holes in paper or ringing steel

hell some times when out after rabbit i feel like being sporting so i fire a shot just to scare them to get some practice hitting a fast unpredictable moving target

these same very people are the ones who get butt hurt over me posting pix like this, but they have no idea the excitement after hours of calling and waiting when that first ever coyote finally comes out,,, u take aim and quickly realize all that ammo was wasted on paper cause this is just not the same,,, when your adrenalin and heart beat start to race and u dont have a bench or bi pod to rest on,, when the coyote is smarter than u are and will not hold still and reacts to your every sound or movement

and then u pull the trigger and "if" after all that u hit with precision and get your very first kill,,,, only after that would one truly understand how it feels

this coyote was just a target of opportunity,,, i only stepped out to tinker with my light and there she was..... but its still an awesome feeling when u have that coyote in your cross hairs and you have to focus on your breathing and take your time to make sure the shot is true and humane,,,, but there people who just open fire with out being calm and either miss or wound the coyote

im not a sick person and do not wish to make any animal suffer and usually on any thing bigger than a rabbit or raccoon i would use .223,,, but i know from past experience that the .22lr is deadly on just about everything inside of 100yards with proper shot placement
