Wouldn't reversing the brushes inside the bore be a bad thing?
Yes, not a good practice for normal cleaning operations, but were talking about a bore obstruction. All bets are off at that point.

I wonder how much compressed air it would take to blow a broke boresnake thru the bore?
My shop compressor only goes to 130lb or so... but I generally have a tank or two of scuba air on hand.
Lets hope I never have to find out!
I will never use a snake again. They seem just too harsh on the barrel, and also seems like they could hold crud from the last cleaning. I have had to wrap the thing around my hand regardless of the caliber.
Using a rod and patch just seems much smoother and more "professional".
