Well...I paid for my first ever S&W 357 tonight. A slightly different 2.5" 19-5.

The previous owner had it parkerized, which I know to some is a bad thing, for re-sale, but I kinda like that it's different.
I bought it to carry and shoot anyway.

First ever online gun buy....hope I've done good.

Will post pics when I get it, assuming I can figure out how :)

btw....forgot..I paid $425

I love my K-frame snubbies. Wonderful at the range with .38+P and will run 158gr .357 all day if you like to breathe fire. Post when it arrives.

My favorite 2.5" 19's are the ones that aren't 'NIB'...

...cause I will shoot, carry, and enjoy them everyday without ever worrying about the finish, etc.

Nice pick up.

I don't know how fair the price is, but the Model 19 is a true S&W classic! One of the earliest revolvers I had access to was a Nickel plated, 4" M19 and I thought it was the epitome of what a .357 magnum should be!
As long as the parkerizing was done properly, it's a good finish and certainly interesting....very "military."

Very good price on the nicest revolver they ever made. Congrats! :)

I personally prefer the look of a matte black 19 snub. You might be interested to know that the US Diplomatic Security Service had several runs of matte black (actually bead blast blue) 2.5" 19's made for their agents.

Enjoy that fine 19 snub! Regards 18DAI

Well...the 19 was delivered today. To say I'm impressed would be a gross understatement.

If I can figure out how to post pics I'll get them up ASAP

Congratulations on a beautiful gun.I have a 19-3 2 1/2 inch and it is almost the perfect 357 for me.Enjoy.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I'm really liking this thing. I ordered some Ahrends stocks for it tonight, so I can ditch the rubber ASAP.

I plan on shooting it for qualifications at work on 10-18 along with my 442 for off-duty use.

That is really a sweet looking gun!!! Had a couple of 19 snubbies in my lifetime but let them slip away...

If you are going to shoot .357mag ammo, the rubber grips would probably be more comfortable and provide a better hold. The Ahrends will look better and be fine for .38spl loads but be a real handful for full-house .357's.

This is just my experience, wood grips for looks and rubber grips for shooting. Of course, you got to realize I am an old man now !!:D

I LIKE IT!!!! :D

Nothing to be ashamed of there.
