keep the 15-22,like stated before here, you will get more range time and put more lead down range.the 15-22s looks will be intimidating to and intruder especially in a dark house.i for one have a taurus 9mm with JHPs loaded and a flashlight and laser sight for my primary home defence and the .22 for the back up.just so you know i was concerned about the rounds from the .22 not being effective against an intruder but if you learn how to shoot it and are accurate than you WILL stop a home invader with the 15-22.if i have to use my .22 to defend,i plan on aiming for the upper body and or head.i am outfitting my 15-22 with an illuminated scope and bipod for long range shooting at the range, and a flashlight and laser sight for shooting in darker situations like a night time home defence situation.to me the laser alone adds an intimidation factor just because the intruder can see the dot on his chest and knows he is in a bad position at that point.BTW you can get .22lr bullets that have the pointed tip like a .223 does.i found them online when i was looking at different ammo.hell i even found tracer rounds for it
