The term newbie may be misleading I'm in my mid 60s.
Fairly new to this forum fairly old to guns and S&W.
I grew up an Army dependent then spent 20 years in the Air Force 1973 to 1993. Had a couple of different AFSCs from 463X0 to 427X0 (Nukes to Machinist). Served with the 823rd Red Horse for a lot of my career including during Desert Storm. Had PCSs to Turkey and Greece and multiple TDYs to places like Honduras with the Horse and other groups.
Spent a lot of my time in the Air Force armed with a S&W M15 38 so the 3rd handgun I got was a S&W 13 and have had several K frames over the years up to my current model 66.
After retiring from the Air Force I stayed in FL worked for a great boss down in Destin, FL for about 25 years and then decided I'd worked enough so retired some more and started taking the SS and called it a day.
Health issues from poor life choices (smoking) limit some of my activities now so I'm not an "active" shooter at matches or hunting any more but I live out in the sticks so I can shoot in my backyard.
Over the years I've been into Single Actions, 1911s, AK platform shotguns, ARs, and of course a Good S&W Double Action Revolver.
So hello all and I'll try not to be a pain on this forum.
