Came across this gem. Never fired, in box including the original tools, papers, original warranty, and even the factory brown paper wrapping and trigger guard. 1985 439
FYI it has been fired now! 😳🤣

Fixed site and later hooked trigger guard. Nice score. I really want one in this configuration.

SVT28

Outstanding score. I found a 659 LNIB 1983 vintage recently. Keeps me going to the pawnshops and small gun stores.

Wow that is nice. I like the trigger guard on that model. Great finding one new-in-box. Great purchase

It is a beauty. I agree with SVT28, the combination of fixed sight and squared trigger guard is DA' BOMB! Wish my 659 was configured like that.

Interesting 439, dont think I have seen another with that combination of features,
Have no idea of production numbers but the ones I usually encounter have the bigger adjustable rear site without the ambi safety lever , early ambi safeties had a phillips head retaining screw where later ones have the hex,
I purchased a brand new Model 459 around 1985 , it had the square trigger guard but no ambi safety,
never actually cared for the square trigger guard as it didnt fit in any of my older Model 59/39 holsters.
Back then I liked the bigger rear site but now I like the looks of the dovetailed fixed site.

Never cared for the Delrin grips on the 3rd gens but they got an improved dovetail front and rear site with Novak 3 dot sites which was a huge improvement over the fixed front site and factory dovetailed rear site on the 2nd gens, The first gens had a lower profile rear site that was adjustable for windage only although the rear blade could be swappedin the same manner as S&W revolver sites with different heights in black or white outline.

That is a sharp pistol and a fantastic find.

Please correct me if I am missing something but I want to say or confirm that the -only- differences between this cool 439 as shown and any/all 39-2 pistols are:

ambi decock lever
fixed rear sight
hooked trigger guard
internal, trigger actuated firing pin lock

Besides those, the two pistols are the SAME, no?

Very nice and I've not seen a 439 with a square trigger guard. My 439 is from 1983,box, original mags etc with the round guard. Some don't care for the square trigger guard. I have one on my first year 5906. My 439.
