I've picked up 4 Model 65's over the past several years, but only one Model 64. It's a 64-2, and is a former California Department of Corrections gun. The CDC stamp is a bit different that what Ive seen on others. I has more of a stylish font rather than the block letter/numbers.

Nice score. The snubbies were issued to people like the Security Squad (institution based) while actually out chasing escapees. I think they issued 3" for a while to parole agents and the headhunters out of HQ. Pretty good chance that gun sat in an armory for 15 years and seldom, if ever, saw daylight. Since CDC is now almost completely converted to Glock .40 cal a LOT of model 64s will be hitting the market.

I carried a 64 snub for years as my issued weapon until we transitioned to the Glock 23.

Nice. I picked up a CDOC 2" 64 a few years ago when a batch hit the market. It's a fantastic gun. If more hit the market I'd be likely to get another.

Congrats. I too have a 64-2 snubby, though not CDC marked. Picked it up from a member here & it's my primary carry gun. It simply works for me.

I posted a thread of my CDC 64-5 today and didn't even see this thread. Nice snubs!

Agree. Great carry revolver. I bought my 64 2" back in 1976 when I became a LEO for off duty carry. We were issued Model 10s for duty. Still have it and the original pancake holster. It remains the most comfortable carry I have. Shield 9 is next.
