.....be ever vigilant- cracked frames can fail catastrophically when fired-

I wonder about that. The damage to most if not all of the blown-up revolvers I've seen photos of seems to be confined to the top strap and/or cylinder. I've never seen one with the barrel blown off or the front of the frame blown apart. I wonder just how many cracked-frame airweights are being shot without any apparent problem by an unaware owner?

Alright, now show us the pictures or it didn't happen!
And, to keep this thread alive, here's an image of mine:

A bit worn, but carried often. Too bad S&W quit making these, as mentioned already a great carry piece.

The Model 12 makes an excellent carry revolver. I toted this one a few times before retiring it to recreational use only.

I picked it up today.$440 with tax and stupid $10 charge for a background check in CO. The box was for a Model 39. Damn! Thought it had the correct box but the gun looks new.

I doubt that the aluminum frame S&W revolver fails "catastrophically" when the classic under-barrel crack appears. While I have never had a K frame crack, I had a 20 year old J frame crack sometime during a 100 round range outting. The odds are 99-to-1 that it cracked sometime before I fired the last round but it was working fine. I found the crack while cleaning it the next day.

We read about a fair number of the J frames cracking but not about one ever coming apart during the shoot that likely broke it. The K frames are doubtlessly the same.
