I bought a few tubes of this online at about 80% off list price. After experimenting with it a few months now, I started putting a thin coat on my bolt carrier and it seems to really make my AR a lot easier to clean after the next day on the range. I was wondering if anybody else uses Froglube, and if so, what you have found works best as a combination to clean an AR.

Yes, I use Frog Lube. Yes, it makes your gun much easier to clean. Be sure to follow the directions and not leave much on the gun.

But from all I read about Frog Lube most seem to love it. I am going to try it out as well...

Of all the many products our LGS has carried, here's the best:

There is a free sample link on their site!

FL makes cleaning my pistols as easy as "taking candy from a baby."

For the OP all the reviews I have read and heard seem to indicate that Frog Lube is a good product. Expensive and if it is better than the other good ones is a personal thing I guess.

I have used both extensively. In my experience, no one product is the "best" for all applications. Slip2000 EWL is good stuff, but not as good when it comes to cleaning. Absolutely nothing makes it easier to clean your gun than Frog Lube.

Will give it a whack too. Been using Breakfree CLP and Hoppes for years. So many products out there it is confusing.

90K rounds on the gun on the left (it's now my wife's gun), approaching 20K on the gun on the right, I've only used Froglube on them. Not saying the others are bad, I just don't see a reason to change. (the pics are from today, I haven't wiped either of them off since practice last night)

I read some mixed reviews of froglube- something about it drying up or becoming sticky. I've used aircraft grease in the past on my 1911 rails- I got some when I worked in the engine shop at Travis back in the early 80s and needed to keep the slide and frame on my AMT Longslide Harballer from galling. Now I use Lubriplate SFL-0 on all my autos.

If you want the best get DuPont Krytox.

I recently took delivery of a pair of elite Iron rifle suppressors, their Bravo model. I was a bit surprised to find a few small tubes of frog lube in the box along with instructions to squeeze the frog lube in behind the threads, then use the can as normal. Supposed to really help with fouling and crud build up inside the can.

Sure does make for a weird smell the first several shots after "treating" the can with FL.
