Gauging intrest for drop in ambi safety

Hi everyone, I just wanted to give you an quick update about what is going on with the ambidextrous safety's. I am now working with Battle Arms Development to produce the safety centers and come up with a full drop in kit for the MP15-22.

Thanks
Jon

Now youve gone and done it.

they work great Jon, feels just a tiny bit like it's twisting when I apply pressure to select fire, but that could be from the 3d printing, Great Design, My son tells me, " we got to get more of these dad", Can't wait to see how far you go with these

Jon,

Thanks for the update! Battle Arms will do a great job on it! I am glad you are making headway I know there are a lot of 15-22 owners who will do this swap! :)

Merry Christmas!

Jon,

Any updates for us?

Everything is coming along nicely with the safety centers. Battle Arms Development is going to have some prototypes made first to ensure everything works like it should. Right now the production run is still several weeks out.

We discussed doing the safety center out of aluminum, but the cost of aluminum and steel is about the same. So the best option will be to go ahead and make it from steel and have it heat treated for durability. Since the safety centers will be made of steel, the plastic detent will need to be replaced. The kit will include a hardened stainless steel dent that will hold up to the steel centers.

So far the most popular levers are the standard and the short, that is what will most likely be in the kit. We have talked about doing a three lever kit, but that is still up in there air. However, what is really great about Battle Arms Development is that they offer a lever exchange program that will allow you to trade out a lever for another with out paying for a new one.

Now I know the biggest question everyone has is, what's the price. I don't have an exact price yet, but should know in the next couple of days.

If any one has any other questions let me know.

Thanks
Jon

I talked with Battle Arms Development yesterday and they suggested offering a kit that comes with just 1 lever with an end cap, in addition to offering the 2 lever kit. The one lever kit would be cheaper and allow you to swap the lever from either side easily, and if you wanted you can replace the end cap with a lever later on.

Let me know what you think about the idea of a single lever kit.

Thanks
Jon

will i be able to use my current lever as the other lever?

You will not be able to use stock lever from the 15-22. The stock safety selector center and lever are one piece. Battle Arms Development and I are making a new replacement safety center that will use their levers only. If you purchased the 1 lever kit and wanted 2 levers later on, you would have to buy an additional lever.

One or two lever pack - either way, where do I sign! :)

Will you be taking orders from/shipping to the UK? <please!>

I have no problem with shipping these to the UK.

I've been browsing this forum for a while without an account and registered specifically for this thread. I just bought an M&P15-22 a few days ago and am interested in the drop in safety selector. Bad Arms Development makes a great product and this one shouldn't be any different.

I would like for it to be offered with 2 levers though as I am an ambi shooter and prefer ambi selectors. My preference would be for thin levers on both sides.
