Don't buy it for a second -- Sony's on a major image counteroffensive.

The theater chains don't have the power; the distributors do. All Sony had to do was signal to the chains that waffling on The Interview would jeopardize getting other Sony films and the chains would roll over. Sony didn't do that, the chains accurately read that Sony wasn't backing its own product and the chains were free to "refuse".

I didn't watch it but if he's spinning it that way, Obama should make him his press secretary.

Look at a photograph of the Korean peninsula taken after dark and see if anybody in North Korea would even notice. You can't turn off what's not on in the first place.
