As some of you remember, my wife had a stroke back in July. I am thankful to report she is doing much better and want to thank those who remembered us in their prayers with heartfelt thanks.
Somewhere around the first of the month things started getting much better. She shuffled from the wheelchair to the walker for most of her movement within the house and for the last couple of weeks her balance and dexterity has gotten to the point she can get up at night for her bathroom runs without waking me up to help. It was a strange sensation to actually get a full nights sleep for the first time in almost 4 months.
This week the physical therapist started her using the cane to walk and if she remembers to take full strides she can move quite well. We transition over to regular therapy from in-home next week.
When the folks at the phone co. decided to swap us over to a spending account instead of carrying our retiree health benefits themselves, I thought OH GREAT !!!... how is this going to work out. Let me say it has worked great for us. Haven't even bothered to look at the figures in a couple of months but we get no bills The over $200k in hospital bills, I know of, have cost me nothing. The plan "F" I chose with my spending account has picked up everything medicare hasn't covered. I pay my plan f premium, drug plan and dental plan every month and every month I get a check to reimburse what I spend from the company. Life is good.
I just wish I could get a refund on last summer though. The Mustang is still waiting for the final block sanding and paint. I have zero hay in the barn, late garden didn't get planted and the only shooting I have done is off the front porch at tree rats trying to cover the porch up with hulls from the beechnuts as they gorge themselves in the trees.
Oh well, this Thanksgiving I am thankful for many things, including y'all, so let me say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and God bless you for helping me stay sane for the last few months.

Larry, I had to go up on the mountain above Springville today. On my way home I was thinking about you and your wife and said a little prayer. I'm glad to hear she continues to improve.
We all have much to be thankful for.
