Global Warming to the NE

I heart ya. The motorcycle club went for a group ride yesterday and we all had our electric jackets turned on. Temps were in the high 50's.

The temp here is 18 and snowing and I just saw a guy on a motorcycle.

Part of global warming is weather extremes.
Part of "global warming" is that whatever happens, it's evidence of global warming. That's what passes for "science" these days.

Kind of like drinking. I drink because I'm glad. I drink because I'm sad. I drink because it's hot. I drink because it's cold. I drink because I'm young. I drink because I'm old.

Kin Ah git me some cahbon credits heah?

It might be a normal climate change, it might be partially man made, it might be all man made. But it is real. The scientists who actually study climate agree. It is going to effect everybody. Denying it is a lot like King Canute ordering the waves to stop. Interesting to watch but totally ineffective. Makes you wonder why politicians would deny reality.

Or all just bunk to extract more money from the people. Its important to note that it could all be natural. That alternative is probably more viable than giving government ever more power to regulate us. The Scientists who claim to be studying it are doing so at our expense. When they find what the government bureaucrats want, they get another grant to keep turning in the desired findings.

There is also a conspiracy to discredit and silence the "doubters". The big fat baffoon who has also gotten rich on this has told us the debate is over. Its as if science is ever settled, or can be by a debate. Its your first indication the whole deal is a scam that makes money for the cheerleaders. Most of the early "science" has been discredited. But the money pouring into the one side in this has resulted in more science (aka organic fertilizer) supposedly supporting their desired results.

There is no denying the agenda has resulted in massive money flowing toward the scientists that turn in results they approve of. All the climate models fail miserably to predict what is happening. Especially the current 18 year stall they've predicted.

And to think just a year or so ago the New York Times wrote a major story explaining why people living in the NE part of the country may never see snow again. The past few days our weather has been sunny with low 70s in the daytime and high 40s-low 50s at nite. Thankfully, real snow that sticks to the ground and turns things white seldom ever happens.

My great Aunt died last year at 104 years old and up till a few months of her passing she was still a very clear thinking women. She lived 20 or so miles from us so we saw her often and to here talking about the weather she lived through living on the farm was amazing thing to here, some years no rain= no crop, some years extreme cold and no snow, some years to much snow, some years summers were really hot, and some years the summers were cold and the winters were warm. To this day I still laugh cause when you would ask her what was going on with all the different changes she'd look at you and say "It's called Weather". Seems to me we got way to many people over thinking just about every thing.

I'm old enough to remember the speculation about a coming ice age in the 70's. Brought to you by the same liberal gang that now pushes "climate change", formerly known as "global warming". Funny how this mostly comes from liberals who would love to turn us into a total nanny state with Al Gore types telling us how to live, give up our cars and enjoy our bicycles.

Me too.

Ice ages came and went, long before there were enough people on this Earth to "affect" climate and probably LONG before there were people at all.

AL Gore and his ilk can pound sand.

Hoping ya'll up there in New England pull through this latest episode of global warming. I have been in blizzards in Northern Kansas and So. Nebraska. They are no fun. It is a shame after going through the hottest summer (2014) :( in hundreds of years, to be hit with a blizzard like the news says this one is going to be.

Global warming is hard at work here in downeast Maine. I took this pic at 0930 - 8deg, 30mph wind with gusts into the 40s, expecting 18-24" of snow and only 19hours left of the National Weather Service's blizzard warning!

Yup, it's about what it is here in Leeds, down towards Augusta. I had to go get more gas for the tractor, and it was hard to tell where the road was. We were at 15" or so, and it's still a whiteout.

16:00 Midcoast ME. 12 deg 30 mph gusts into the 40's.

By no means anything historic. Just another storm deserving of respect. Going by sideways, so it isn't even really pretty sticking to the trees. I feel bad for all the lineman they were shipping in yesterday. Convoys of them southbound on 95 with New Brunswick plates. I don't see this causing serious havoc with the grid. It's too light and fluffy.

I agree. I'm glad for that, my generator needs a new regulator and I haven't had a chance to fix it. I was on my way home last night and passed a couple from NB. One truck was doing maybe 50mph and was all over the road, looked like it was a handful for them. But they make a lot of bank when it's bad outside, as they should.

Does anyone else notice how so many network news stories about the horrors of global warming / climate change are based on the mere prediction of a storm?

The most striking example was a couple of years ago when it was predicted that the southeast US would have one of the worst hurricane seasons ever. Story after story with grim predictions of lives lost, billions to be needed for reconstruction, etc. These "what might happen" stories were illustrated with file footage of previous disasters, strong graphic images of the inevitable horrors to come.

Turned out, it was one of the mildest hurricane seasons ever! So did we hear from any of the doomsayers "Oops! We sure blew that one!" ??? Of course not!

For viewers with "short memories" (let's be polite here) what remains? How do you remember what you didn't hear? Instead they remember the horrifying propaganda.
