Which one of these is more compact, aside from barrel length? Also, which one would you say is "built" better?

Both great guns. Both well built.

The 9c is a little more compact(but you give up a few rounds).

Shoot them both if you can. Hold them both for sure. If you have small hands you will probably want the M&P with the small grip insert.

9C is a little more compact. It all comes down to personal preference. You won't know which one you like better until you go out and shoot both. Either way, you can't go wrong with either choice.

I have held and shot both. Forget to mention that.

Both were very similar. Both had good and not so good points. Both very balanced. It is tough to make a choice.

I like them both. Shot both of them over time.

I have a G19, mostly because it was my wife's "first gun", and she liked it just a shade more than the 9c. However, a 9c is on my list for later. It's down the list a bit, but only because there are other things (1911, AK) that I'd like to add to the collection before another compact 9 mm.

I honestly don't think you go wrong either way, just make sure YOU like it and are comfy with it.

I've shot both, along with the XDM9c and the SR9c... All in the same range session. The G19 wins hands down, followed by the XDM9c, the SR9c third, THEN the M&P9c. Didn't like the trigger of the M&P9c at all and won't throw more money into a new pistol just to make it acceptable. [shrug]

Own both.

The 9c feels a little better in hand, but the 19 shoots better (in my hands).

They both conceal pretty much the same. If I am wearing something that I can conceal the 9c, I can also conceal the 19, but I always use the mag with the pinky extension on my 9c. I don't use the flat mag. I prefer my glock 26 to the 9c with flat mag.

If I could only own one, I would keep the 19.

You can't go wrong either way, both are outstanding pistols.

Bottom line, the 9c is an in between size in my opinion and isn't that useful for me. It does have slightly better ergos but not enough better for me to make a switch.

Now, if S&W made a M&P exact size and capacity as a 19, I would probably switch if I shot it just as well.

I'd chose a Taurus over a Block. But thats just how much I believe in the Block hype.

I've always had trouble trusting a company who cant make either of the 2 most popular pistols known to man kind....The revolver and the 1911.

When it comes to S&W versus Block. I'll gladly chose the one who has 100 years more experience of making fine firearms over the other company.

I guess I'll add my EDC gun is a Ruger SR9c. It fits my hand perfectly, is VERY accurate, comes with a 10 round mag (with pinky extender base and flat mag base) and 17 round mag (with grip sleeve), and has a pretty good trigger. I'd look at that gun too. The only downside is mags are expensive.

I really like the feel of the Ruger SR series of pistols. I just wish they made them without thumb safeties.

If you like both, may as well chose the 19 for higher round capacity. Not big enough to make much of a difference between the two, as far as concealment. I'm one of those that just doesn't like the feel of a Glock so I carry an M&P. I've become very curious about the CZ p07, though.

If they told me I could keep only one of my handguns, without reservation it would have to be my GLOCK 19.

I would have to boot my Rugers, my Colts (including 1911s), and all of my S&W wheel guns.

I used to own a Glock 23 but gave it & the G21 to my son & bought a used M&P40 & a new 40C. I like the grip of the M&Ps much better. I always shot my Glocks good but I shoot my M&Ps better. To get around the loss of ammo capacity I use a FS mags equipped with X-Grips. If it's not in the gun when I carry it it's on my belt.

9c will be easier to carry, but THEE Glock is the 19. I don't care for full size Glocks outside the 21 and don't care for sub compacts but Glock compacts are nice "first guns" and do all guns.

I own an SR9c. I am just looking to add one more to the collection. In time I will probably get both. Just deciding which to get first.
