Depends on which model you are looking at. My LGS's were crazy high...ended up ordering one one online and paying the $25 transfer fee. Paid $515 shipped and transfer for my MOE.

Got my 15-22 for $489.99 at kylesgunshop.
Free shipping.

$20 for the FFL transfer at Primary Arms.

Total $509.99

Hard to tell exactly what I just paid because I traded another rifle. Guess I can play with the difference and apply it to either end of the sale. For guestimating purposes, let's say I got out of there paying about $449 incl tax and I got em to toss in a box of Federal ammo marked $22.

PS - I now have a matching set of S&W M&P 15's. One Sport and one 15-22 :).

PSS - My wife must hate it when I head out to a gunshop with the intention of buying myself a Bday present!

My S&W M&P15-22 Non MOE with Threaded Barrel (811033) was $377 from Budspolicesupply.com They're currently $388 including shipping for Law Enforcement Officers, Active and Retired Military Personnel, National Guard and Military Reserve Personnel, Firemen, Security Officers, CAP (Civil Air Patrol).

The WalMart near me usually has one in stock and it's $427. the last few times I was in there it was the one with the flash suppressor.

Bud's Gun Shop - $454.08 shipped ($5.00 insurance) + $20 transfer fee at local dealer = $474.08 total.

1 x Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 A1 Style w/Compensator & Collapsible Sto (811033)

Bought my 811035 (Dark Earth MOE) today for $534 out the door...Anyone know if the tan mags are being sold yet? I had seen a thread about the perfect paint color to use if not...thx

I've been looking all over for the fde mags.
no luck, not even in the s&w store

FDE alternative

"Brownells Alum-Hyde (spray finish) in coyote brown matches the MagPul FDE (flat dark earth) color almost exactly. In fact it matches better than some MagPul parts match other MagPul parts." Quote from Chuck S on Dec 14, 2011

This is the post I had seen, but have not tried the paint yet. I will pick some up and give it a shot, then post a pic.

Tom, in S&W customer service replied to my inquiry yesterday about the availability of the FDE mags and replied that I should begin looking for them in 4/6 weeks. I had also inquired about the feasability of painting the black mags and he replied that S&W does NOT recommend this practice...

cool, thanks for the post! I will be looking to get an order in before the intial sell out...hopefully
