Goodbye Cleveland Indians

Lets just name the teams after the owners; after all, most of the stadium names have gone commercial.
Cleveland Dolans, Pittsburgh Nuttings, Miami Shermans, Chicago Reinsdorfs sound pretty neutral.
Don't like those names, well, how about naming the team after the ballpark; how do the Cleveland Progressives or the Pittsburgh PNC's, or the Miami Loan Depots, or the Chicago Guaranteed Rates sound?
Some people need to get an actual life and quit whining.

A simple change to the logo and it would have been fine.

I liked what Dan Snyder finally did with the Redskins. The Washington Football Team works for me. Most MLS teams use some version of FC or SC along with the city name. New York already has the Red Bull's, so using the sponsor isn't beyond the pale either . . .

Yep, the MLS team here is FC Cincinnati. It is self explanatory.

Yup. Looks like we're such pansies now that we can't really give teams nicknames (like we've done for about 150 years) because certain people will be upset.

We'll just generically call them by their cities....until the city names become offensive.

Sounds like a country and culture in ascension doesn't it?

FC Cincinnati emulated the English Premier League which uses city names.

Cleveland Guardians? Sounds like a Rollerball team. It's coming down the pike eventually for all the "offensively" named teams. We're pretty well stocked up on Seminole gear:D At least the Miami teams seem pretty well offense proofed: Hurricanes, Heat, Dolphins, and Mariners, but you never know:rolleyes:
