Got really tired of being UnShielded

Two and a half months into the new M&P Shield craze and I'm finally in.
My LGS wanted $500 when they were in. They only lasted a day or two and then.....gone.
I hit the range last week and just happened to ask about the Shield and found they were now asking $449 and they had five 9mms in.
I previously thought I could get a better price on Gunbroker but got outbid. The guy paid $490 for it.
Also, the ongoing debate....9 or .40, 9 or .40, 9 or .40
Well, it's a done deal.
Proud new owner of a sweet little M&P Shield 9mm.
Can't wait to clean, oil and fire!

I couldn't wait. I shot a box within minutes of picking it up at my LGS, which also runs the range. Then I cleaned it .

Good for you. I prefer the .40, but you will enjoy the 9mm.

Congratulations. About a month ago mine was delivered a fellow RSO while I was working. My shift ended and I saw it was very well lubed and the bore was clear. I ran about 50 handloads and a couple of mags of range pickups of various wts. and shapes. Zero issues. I was pleasantly surprised to note the POA was dead on with respect to vertical and about 3/4" low at 30' thus enabling me to see my full 1" square target. About 400 rounds fired and still no issues except everything getting smoother. I also have a nine and I think the much lower ammo price and availability will serve you well. I cannot really handload at the price nine ammo is now selling for.

Congrats on the new shield! I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago, and absolutely love it. Only have just over a 100 rounds through it, but no issues at all. Enjoy it!

Seems like they are becoming more and more available. That's some good news for people that still haven't enjoyed one. I'll probably do another outing on the 4th.... if I can make it that long

S&W rebate for military is still good for a few more days. I have used it each year for the last few years on purchases of my M&Ps. $100 on rifles and $50'o pistols and $30 on revolvers.
