Got stopped by a Highway Patrolman tonight

I'm the proud owner of a 28-2 HP 4' dated back in 1973.
No need to say that is one of my favourite wheelguns.
Your new purchase really seems to be in a very good shape, almost unfired....
Lucky man !

Good on you -- you found a good one.

I'm quite proud to be able to remember that time in the gun industry where models such as the M28 were the 'econo - gun' in a .357 revolver instead of something plastic.
Oh, to what depths we have fallen.

Your life will now be easier, instead of just looking for J & K frames, now you get to buy N frames too. And a stellar one at that - very well done!

Congrats on a nice piece of history and you did very well for the described condition it is in. Welcome to the M28 club and enjoy.

Haggle or walk on a 28-2

While walking through the local flea market Saturday, I ran across a Model 28-2, 4 inch with a rough Parkerized finsh job for $400, The guy would not go below $350 so I walked away with the hopes he will be there this Saturday and I will make another offer. It had some pitting on the cylinder and the usual holster wear, and would be a truck gun, so I walked away. it is worth another look for the price of $350 or haggle him down more?

Want to jump in here one more time if you guys will let me. I don't really think there are words that can express what a wheel gunner experiences to be blessed with a n frame highway patrolman and a bottle of Hoppes' #9 to clean it with, sit back and enjoy the scent of the #9 and admire your prize. Maybe this old man is being silly but to me this is as good as it gets. Popper

I also got stopped by one about a month ago. Mine is a 6 inch NIB.

you ought to go to jail for stealing a gun like that, $300.00!! I'll give you 350.00 for it right now. but popper is right, there is nothing like cleaning you "N" frame smiths. I have them in 28, 57, 24, 25? -.357. 41 mag., .44 (one is a converted .357 into .44 special) special, .44-40(model 544) and two in .45 LC. one heritage model, and one .44 special in a heritage model.
I love them all. and they are accurate!
