I am looking for a new pistol grip for my 15-22 but I am looking for one that will increase the diameter of the grip especially at the top. Basically a longer reach to the trigger.

I'd REALLY recommend you go to some local stores and get your hands on different grips out there. This is a very personal decision, as it is literally where the metal meets the road.

Okay, not literally, but you get my drift.

I'm a huge fan of the Magpul MOE+ rubberized grips. I've got big hands, and the backstrap on it is nice. You really won't know what's right until you get your hands on them though.

The MIAD grips are nice, only reason I didn't get one for my Rock River M4 is because I prefer rubberized grips.

Are the Hogue ones thicker than stock?

I am going to try as many as I can find but selection is rather limited at my local shops.

Yes, considerably. Having handled the MIAD grips and a couple of others, I settled on the Hogue. Better fit to my hand and I prefer the rubber surface as well.

As others have said, if at all possible, try before you buy.

I also like the better fit along with the rubber grip. One of the first stock things I always change out.

But as said, try before you buy.

Do not get the MIAD grip. Where the removable parts join, there is a small gap right where the rear takedown spring sits. Because of the gap the spring wiggles itself loose. Not completely loose but enough to release tension on the detent pin.

you just need to get the Magpul ar-10 wedge... a $4 part. it solves the problem with the gap and the spring.

I have a gently used Magpul that came on my 15-22 that I replaced with a Hogue grip. Let me know if you'd like to buy it at a considerable savings.

I have the magpul moe+ grip it's super comfortable and my hands aren't very large

21 Grips Compared Here's 21 grip profiles that GS made a comparison on. You can take a look through the gallery and see what fits you. It's better to try and buy, but for angle and circumference differences this is a pretty good picture gallery for that. Hope it helps!

That was a really good review of the grips. That helped a lot seeing the difference between all of them.

Thanks for all the info guys. Now I have a good idea of what I am looking for when I go into a store.
