Gun Control, Chicago-Style

I think the Chicago ban will go the way of the Washington DC ban thanks to The Supreme Court. You can rest assured it will be challenged on the Federal Level and overturned......Mike

Typical politicians. They'd like to corral "us mere citizens", but them? Why, they're above the law/the law doesn't apply to them.

The "mopery aforethought" was exactly what I was trying to warn folks about last year. Now it's mopery, with NO THOUGHT!
Nothin' to see here folks, move along...

now is the time to take back what was delivered 146 years ago, but has faded considerably...............

"government of the people, by the people, for the people........"

And this is the city that from what I understand wont issue an id card to its retired officers prohibiting them from carrying a weapon under the law enforcement officers safety act.

Only 41% of illinois gun owners vote! WAKE UP!!!!! If all of us vote (approx. 1.5 million) in Illinois, we can make a difference. If want to get rid of Little Richie, get off you a** and vote.

I do vote! But can all of us gun owners outvote Chicago's dead?

Getting rid of Little Richie would require Chicagoans to vote him out. And since Chicagoans don't own guns (remember that little pistol gun ban we have (rifle owners are few & far between)), Little Richie will be in office either until he dies or decides to not run again.

Many Chicagoan's own guns, most just not legally.

MOST Chicagoan's DO own guns!

In the case of most of the guns Chicagoans own however, the caveat must always be added that most Chicagoans own OTHER peoples guns.
I know, 'cause mine became other peoples guns a few times.

I think the word is "possess" other people's guns, not "own". But the idea holds.

About 15 years ago my secretary's husband was stopped by CPD for being white in a black neighborhood (he was a construction foreman headed for a job site). He (foolishly) consented to a search of his vehicle and they found the revolver he kept in the map pocket (see above statement about race and location). He was promptly arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. At arraignment the judge decided that skin tone was not sufficient probable cause for a traffic stop and that the stop and the seizure of the weapon were both invalid and dismissed the charges.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus - the judge ordered the revolver (legally owned in the 'burbs) returned to him.

At the time I was so shocked by this display of level-headed jurisprudence that I forgot to ask what he carried.
