I know criminal usually arn't the most intelligent people in the world, but honestly how stupid do you have to be to try and rob a gun store during the middle of the day?

EXACTLY what I was thinking. I mean you might as well go rob the police station while you're at it.

The only thing I could think of would be if the PD had just seized a large shipment of drugs or something. AS far as robbing a gun store, I was watching gangland and they were talking about asian gangs. These guys watched the store for a few days to learn when the cops patrolled at night. They back a car through the front doors, had a team of people that just broke display cases then ones that came behind then with pillow cases to put all the guns in.

I'm not saying it's smart to commit a crime but the approach these asian gangs took seemed to work a lot better than this other guy.

Back in the mid 80's I lived in Montreal. The Montreal Police warehouse was burgarlized and IIRC several police radios, and several .38 revolvers were stolen.

Gun stores have always been a target. Off the top of my head I can think of four that I know of first hand!
