Hammer strike point

I have not sent back a 15-22, but I have sent an SW1911 to them twice. You do not need a lock, just box up the gun, original magazine and make sure it's in "inoperable" status (unloaded etc..) and ship it off. You can actually ship it in the factory box, just cover the box in that brown shipping paper and tape her up good. They actually don't want you to send back anything but the gun and mag, leave out the manual, etc.

I'm not sure FedEx will accept wrapped packages. A can of "cardboard spray paint" (there really is such stuff) will paint out all the markings if you really have to use the logo box.

No, I'll use your method Chuck and break it down and ship it that way. It will be easier to wrap it up in a medium sized box, rather than worrying about the stock box. Thanks again for the advice!

I shipped mine back in the box it came in. The S&W rep told me to take the box apart and reverse the cardboard and put it back to gether with the logo inside. Worked great.
