...by what you have had posted or read on an internet thread?

Just wondering as the thread postings, comments, rebuttals, replies, etc. have seemed to turn up a notch or two lately?

Yes, sometimes they have.

I think some of us are just longer winded than others...which can be bad or good depending on the situation.

It's awfully hard to know when you've opened your mouth too far, but it's likely I do it too much sometimes.

Sure, I don't know everything. Just ask my wife.

My primary values have never been changed, but my position on all kinds of issues have been. A person that has never changed their mind on ANYTHING is the kind of person I avoid.

Oh, back to the subject. Anyone reading one of my "positions" from a post might have a really hard time knowing how I really feel. Sometimes I just take a contrary position for the fun of it, or because everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and I feel the other side deserves a fair hearing. Sometimes I even take a stance I don't believe in to see what others think.

Another problem associated with my advancing years is maybe I can't even remember what my position should be!

I used to go to a little gun shop in town and the owner was an older gentleman who loved to take the contrarian view. It was amusing to watch him work. Some hothead whose buttons were easy to push would come in and he would make some controversial statement to get the newcomer riled up. Then he would work his way around finally to arguing the the position taken by his adversary, many times with the guy arguing the exact opposite of what he started with and not understanding how he got there.

He passed a few years ago and I still miss the entertainment.

Sure, one of the main reasons I come here is to see what other people have to say about a variety of subjects.

yes, because of this board actually. I used to be suspect about the need/desire for some sport utility rifles, but no longer am.

Maybe, but I cant remember when.
There have been times I WANTED to belive somebody was right and I was wrong, but it seems my first insticks were right! For instance, this last election!

I agree. Not that long ago I thought a national CCW would be the way to go. After much debate I do thinkit is best to keep BHO out of it.

As a late bloomer to owning guns (50) I have had my mind changed many times. I was told to stay baway from Glocks and then I ran into an old police buddy and he said buy a Glock. I did and I am very happy.
