hello,
found this site while researching the background of my father's K22 pre-model 17 masterpiece, and also looking into replacing my G27 (a compact semi-auto in 40 caliber - ouch!)

the G27 was a fine shooter, picked it up new in 2006. very powerful and accurate, a perfect size when equipped with the 13 round mag and reliable as a hammer. but, the recoil was really too much. period reviews spoke of a recoil that was "smart", "peppy", "stings a bit", etc. but i can tell you the trigger guard slammed my middle finger every time, and hard too! i was anticipating and pulling, being accurate was required a pantload of concentration on every shot - no fun. tried a shooting glove but boom! at the wrong time.

have been shooting since i was 10 or so, moving between the K22, a 22 pump rifle and .410 single. grew into the m1911 (my grandfathers) which is my favorite to shoot, too heavy to carry, imo.

i always carry when hiking, tried the 45, then an sp101. a great wheelgun, btw.

i recently handled an oh-so slightly used smith and wesson m&p 9mm at parros' gunshop in waterbury, vt, and traded my G27 that day. a great shooter, easily accurate with no drama, perfect ergos, simple to field strip, a smooth but sort of heavy/long trigger. the trigger's no big deal, i may upgrade at some point but she's fine for now. the white sights are a help too!

i picked up a desantis cross chek holster on ebay but the angle is wrong for cross-draw, which i prefer, so i'll sell that and prob go back to blackhawk serpa.

anyhow, too much typing, time to read a little.
regards,
bob p
