Hi all, new guy here and just purchased a new M&P full size 9mm. I have had other Smiths before, but, this is my first plastic smith. I haven't shot it yet but plan too soon. I have shot many glocks and other Poly semi auto's. How do you all that own one like them? I look forward to seeing all the great information on this forum.

My M&P's are 40 but my mom has a 9. It's been good. She did send it back because the firing pin did not reliably reset. Since then, it's been good.

My M&P9 is my first pistol, and I just love it. I've put about 600 rounds through it with no problems. It fits my hands well and is easy to clean and maintain. Plus I got it on sale for $399 new, so I couldn't be happier!

Welcome to the forum! I have a M&P.45 and a M&P 9, both ran just fine out of the box, no issues.

I liked my M&P9 so well I bought a 40 also. Never can have to many guns! I have about 2k rounds through my 9 with no issues. If you would have an issue S&W is very good at making it right. Have fun! BTW the trigger gets better with use.

There are two M&P 9c's in our house, both have been flawless in the 4 years we have owned them. Both have Crimson Trace grips and are carried everyday.

Carry one daily. 1 year, 3-4K rounds, never an issue. I just wish I was as good a shooter as the 9c thinks I am?

I have got to agree completely with Lee and Spottedog. My MP9c is awesome. Couple thousand rounds, no, none, zero, nada, problems. Fun and easy to shoot and very accurate.

I was able to put 2 boxes of winchesters thru it today, shot great, was very accurate in my opinion. Didn't have a single hick-up. Felt really good in my hand, I'm truly impressed compaired to my glock's and other's I have shot, including 3rd gen 5900's I have owned.

I think you'll find that it's going to be a fine pistol. I picked up my first plastic pistol, an M&P 9c a couple weeks ago and tested it with a variety of ammo. It included FMJ from different manufacturers and 100 rounds of some +P JHP. It ate them all without a hitch.

I would just say clean it up real well and stick with the lube points S&W gave in the instructions. Don't over-lube it.

I follwed that rule with the first 500 rounds. Now that I've got a few downrange, a couple of other small wear points have shown up, so I also grease those points very lightly. Otherwise, that's all I've changed.

Have fun with your pistol.
