Help: Adjustable front sight instructions

I have made 3 forum searches and 2 Google searches, unsuccessfully, to find instructions for correctly adjusting the 4 position front sight on N- and L-frame revolvers.

Could someone please post a link to the instructions I remember seeing, but didn't read or save?

I'm beginning to think these instructions should be posted somewhere on a more permanent basis because this question of how to adjust the silhouette sights seems to come up quite frequently as of late!

I emailed S&W and told them what I had and that I wamted an owners manual .They didn't have any for my 29-3 sillouette so they found one in the archives and made a copy for me to have with the original instructions in it .

You're postings helped me immensely! My uncle gave me his 686-1 with a 6" barrel and the adjustable front sight. I had no idea that all I needed to do was hold down the back of the sight! THANK YOU!!
