My old top break has been with David Chicoine since early November 2012.

The last communication I received came from Daves wife, stating that the work was nearly complete and that Dave would be sending pictures the very next day. I was also told that it would be complete within a week or two.
Great.

The pictures never came, this was back in early September. I inquired a week or so later and again in October as to where the pictures were and , more to the point, when I might expect my Gun back.

I have emailed three times total since the beginning of December with no response. I have called twice and left messages since the middle of December.

At this point I wonder just what to do?
Any ideas, suggestions?

This probably will not make you feel any more confident and I trust you have read the David Chicoine posts on this forum. Without knowing the magnitude of the work involved, I know that some procedures are not attempted in-house such as color case hardening. He, like you, is at the mercy of another vendor.

I'd advise you to be patient a while longer; things are moving in his shop, albeit slowly. Of course, I also have no horse in the race so your outlook will be different. This is an honest person/shop that has had a streak of unfortunate luck.

There have been some very similar complaints about Chicoine posted in other gun forums, in some cases involving waits even longer than yours. I don't have a good answer for you. There are some very angry people out there.

Thanks for the link and replys everyone.
I have been privy to some of the supplied information but certainly not all of it.
Back in September Dave's wife explained things pretty well for me but went on to say that my particular gun was a priority and hence the promised photos, finish time line and so forth.
And then, just like that the lines of communication went dead.
If someone, anyone in their camp were to wire me back and say hey, things went to hell in a hand basket I'd be more than comfortable to sit and wait. In fact, I'd just forget about it for a good long while.

Fact is , I haven't been around here or on any other gun forum for quite some time.
I just got a hair today and reached out to you all here, where the company has always been good.
So, again, thanks for the information everyone, like always I do appreciate it.
I will just put it aside for a while.
