Help me solve an argument: Does driving a Ford Crown Vic make me an old man?

I hear that, we had Buicks for patrol cars.. Plymouth road runners would beat me off the line but they better git out of the way after that. They couldn't stay on the road with me.

Been there, done that Iggy!

Once my rubber band was wound up I was a moving on down the road. I have
fond memories of that 1972, which was also quite the woods car if you kept up the
momentum through the deeper mud holes. I remember one day going down a narrow
two-track on my way to a nice, out of the way, trout fishing stream and having to push
down a couple "small" trees on some narrow turns. My partner that day, glanced my
way a couple of times but never said a word about off-roading in an "old man's car." ;)

Looks like I have a lot of folks on my side.:D
Since only Toyman has met me, here's a rundown:
As stated, I'm 47 years old and happily married to a 51 year old Fox.;) Three kids, 21 year old married daughter, 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter. Self employed for almost 27 years. (Those last three items, as well as heredity account for a lot of grey hair, which I think looks cool). My house is 103 year old. My Ford truck, of which I am the third generation owner is 47 years old. I am a huge Elvis and Sinatra fan and a hopeless romantic. My favorite movie is Casablanca. I always wear a suit and tie to church, and Missus P&R Fan dresses me. I have three Zoot Suits (one is purple) and two pink suits.:D (And I look studly in them). I re-qualified for my CCW permit with a 1952 5" Heavy Duty. I hunt pheasants every year with shotguns that are older than me. (mostly Winchester M12s).
Now, you read all that and thought, this guy is ready for a nursing home, right? Uh, no. I can still do everything I could do 30 years ago, and I can do all of them better today, and I never intend for that to change. I have worked the last 21 days straight, and just got off a surveillance at 0230 hrs. Gonna probably do something similar tomorrow.
I ain't old, folks.....not even close. I just like nice, big comfortable cars.
My next one, however is gonna be a sporty 5 speed manual that goes fast around corners. I just gotta make some more money.
And get some SLEEP!!!
'Night all.
Jim

AHHH, the mid life crisis car!

FYI 5 speeds are for little old ladies now. Sports cars have at least 6.

I saw a older dude maybe 70 wearing a lime green sports coat and yellow pants driving a 1998 Crown Vic. He looked old and silly. So my guess your an old dude also. They say clothes and a car make the man.

Alright, this thread has gone on for too long. I should have jumped in earlier.

I live in the Former, Crown Vic, Ford LTD Capital of the World. There was only one color WHITE

Yes you are absolutely an old curmudgeon, as all the Hip Seniors here in Florida have now converted to WHITE MINIVANS.

They can pack more blue hairs(aka q tips) in them plus their golf clubs. The whole park can go out to early bird dinners.

So get with the program,!:D;)

Mrs Rule will not let me buy one;)

No, it doesn't make you old at all, ancient maybe, not old. Old folks drive Corvettes, Aston Martins Jags, etc. Hope you still have the polyester leisure suit.

Years ago - 1982 to be exact - moved from Chicago to Houston. No kids, yet, but the wife and I had to acquire two cars. She got a 66 Mustang. I bought a friend's mom's car - 76 Lincoln Continental Mark IV, the last of the road yachts. I was a pup...only 30 at the time.

Old man's car? Hell, I didn't care. It's still the only rig I actually had to move the seat UP! (I'm 6'3"... had a MGB for awhile, too) Lime green, white leather interior, moon roof and more power than I'd ever had in a car! Man, I loved that rig. Most comfortable road car I've ever had.

Four years and two kids later, the Lincoln and the Mustang had been replaced by a Dodge minivan and a Ford Ranger.

I LOVE big cars. (but today I drive a big Honda Pilot)

Be old or not. Drive what you love.

I miss my old Continental.

Does driving a Ford Crown Vic make me an old man?

Unless your a on duty cop, yes....................Sorry.

Crown Vic? Cop or geezer...pick one. Sorry. :p
Mom has a dark blue one aaand FYI... she is in catagory 2. Actually the car rides smooth and is surprisingly quick! It is a good car.
When I drive it... everyone acts paranoid and clears out of the way. :D

I'm looking forward to sitting in it for hour after hour on surveillance.:D

Naw, an old mans car is a Buick. I'm old and I drive a Buick, but my wife does not have blue hair. I also have a Lincoln Town Car, that is really an old mans car or a gang bangers car. LOL.
