County Health dept had 275 doses of J&J. I have been waiting for my lung doc to give me the go ahead but my wife and I liked the idea of a single shot so we went with it. My wife.had zero issues, not even a sore arm. My arm was not sore but about 12 hours later it kicked in. Very tired, hot, aches and zero energy. Slept much of the next day (yesterday), and today, still tired but trying to get back in the groove. I am 67.

Second Pfizer 8 days ago for wife and me. Nothing to report.

A thrilling vaccine day!

Wife and I received our second Pfizer shot this past Monday which required a 250mi RT. On our way home, while traveling on US Highway 30(the original Lincoln Highway), a 17 year old woman made a left turn and smashed into my truck. Truck is totaled but passengers not hurt; side air bags deployed but no face smash. Wife and I were unhurt except she has a bruise from her seat belt. Young woman told cops it was her fault. I did not speak to her. I would be remiss not to mention a passerby stopped and helped us get out of our jammed vehicle; he was on his way home from work and stayed with us until we were OK.

Oh Well, I've been wanting a new truck.

Got my 2nd Pfizer shot yesterday and had a slight sore arm. Woke up today and feel just fine. All systems good to go and no side effects at all.

Pfizer #1 - nothing.

Pfizer #2 - The day of the shot, nothing. Next day, a bit of mild chills and fever from the immune response. Not horrible. The day after that, back to normal.

ETA - I'm amazed at how efficiently this was run (compared to say a visit to the DMV). It was seamless. It was fast. County health officials augmented with healthcare volunteers and Army/Air Force National Guardsmen. First one was in a large church. Second in what used to be a supermarket. They were moving some people through there.

Got our first Moderna 28 days ago Wednesday, had a sore arm for a day. Got the second on Wednesday, sore arm again and chills. Went to be early and got up the next morning and all was good. Wife felt run down on Thursday and slept all day. All good now.

I do want to say something about getting vaccinated and not getting it. I personally know of 2 people that died from Covid. Neither was pretty. They both died on a ventilator. They both drowned in the own bodily fluids as their ravged lungs filled with it, they drowned and there was nothing the doctors could do.

If you don't want to get inoculated your choice but be apprised of the consequences of your actions.

Guy across the road got a mild case and survived and that was 4 months ago and he still cannot do much and he's in his late 40's and physically fit. He's like a 90 year old man now. Has trouble walking to the mailbox. Not working either, I don't think he can.

I'm 71 and my wife is 70 and I'm a survivor and that really puts me at risk. Basically we are hermits and if we do go out we mask up, social distance and wash our hands and use hand sanitizer all the time and before we got our shots avoided others. I was tested 3 times (nasal swab) and was consistently negative and glad of it.

Like I say, your choice but I've seen close up what it will do and if you do get it you will deal with it alone, no family, no kids, nothing but you and the hospital bed and the ventilator, a helluva way to die far as I'm concerned.

You make your bed but be prepared to sleep in it....

I had my second Pfizer shot 3 weeks ago. The first one did nothing but #2 really put me down for the day. Dizzy spells and a headache but that only lasted one day.

Oddly, I have to have surgery Monday and they still made me take the Covid-19 test. I've heard so many people complain about it I was apprehensive but it was nothing. The nurse must have given thousands of tests because he was great.

My wife and I completed the series this week. My wife's arm is very sore. She believes the person who administered the second shot was not as skilled as the first.
Geoff
Who hasn't noticed any after effects...so far.

Side effects

Wife and I had both shots together; same location and technician. My wife believes she had no side effects while I had a hot back of neck the day after first shot. I had a low grade fever the day after the second which was treated with common ordinary aspirin......really who knew.

Our governor just opened the vaccine to all comers in our county of half million people. This will be a real circus and I'm glad to be done with it. It is very apparent that state government here had no people or experience with this kind of situation. Many stumbles and fumbles have occurred . The same comment applies to the Federal people who all had different ideas. Hopefully there will be a thorough retrospective on this event and a playbook created.

I received the 2nd Pfizer shot today at noon. 7 hours later and only a very minor headache. Pharmacist said 12 to 24 hours is about normal for for the start of the feeling bad with a low fever. But I glad I have received the vaccine. Let's get on with life!

I got my first Moderna Friday. I am thinking about faking negative symptoms so I can slip in another day for a 3 day weekend. The weather is beautiful here today.
