Hi All. Recently picked up a very good condition Model 66 - 4" barrel .357 Magnum. Only issue is a very small nick on the crown of the barrel. (Not impeding the bullet but closer to the outside edge) Have no idea how someone could do that, but it's there. Stocks were replaced with Pachmayr rubber grips so I replaced those with Magna Stocks. Can anyone tell me what stocks originally came on these and what year it was manufactured? Serial number is 7K75100. Also can you help with an approximate value knowing the only flaw is the crown nick. Thanks for the help.

7K75100 is a 1976 serial number.

The original stocks would have been Target stocks made of Goncalo Alves. They would have the "football" extractor relief. No smooth diamond at the screw location.

What you describe is probably a small factory defect and it's likely been that way since it was manufactured. Plenty of less than absolutely perfect guns have been made.
