Yet Lenin still stands in Seattle. Go figure.

That's not Lenin.:D

That's Vladimir Ilitch Ulianov:D

And were is Comrad Trostky?

PS. For those who thought buried in Mexico. I ain't paying no cigars.:D

No history isn't being rewritten. Those statues represent two very different things to two different cultures. The wars been over for a long time.Time to move forward, the old south won't rise again

You're absolutely right, but vandals don't have the right to destroy public or private property.
In other communities, the the duly elected authorities made the decision to remove these statues, not some kids.
One may agree or disagree with the decision of the local authorities but that decision was the results of some sort of due-process. That's the point.

I agree, that isn't the way to do it,but we are living in an inflamed political climate right now and people are being played on both sides.Poor leadership comes to mind

Politically motivated violence with authorities looking the other way for political reasons has happened before.
Well, I may not have been around in the early 1960's, but I do know they sent in the freakin National Guard to quell any rioting. I know what happened at Kent State in 1970. So I'd really like to know specific incidents date & loaction of "Politically motivated violence with authorities looking the other way for political reasons has happened before." (your own words quoted in italics)

AFAIK this business of authorities looking the other way, or else providing only a lukewarm and delayed response...is a relatively recent phenomenon. And yeah, I wonder just what that means.

My apologies to both the moderators and membership of this forum if this "contribution" is deemed inappropriate or offensive. It is not my intent to violate forum rules. Sadly, I see this thread as airing the memberships' perceptions of what is happening in today's society.

There was a time when Americans could agree to disagree, that is when respect was prevalent. Today, people want respect but either don't know how or could care less about extending respect.

What we are seeing in our society today is a Bolshevik-like revolution inspired and funded by forces dedicated to the collapse of the America we know. The resident liberal leadership is not really that far removed from the early twentieth century Bolsheviks, who want the collapse of our nation and promote a "peaceful" invasion. The youthful misguided and educationally ignorant collaborators may be facing a fate comparable to that of the SA Brown Shirts as inflicted by the SS Black Shirts!
