Pretty much every Honda piece of equipment I've owned worked incredibly well and lasted forever! The problem is that they are so disproportionally priced, many won't purchase one. For instance, when I moved last year I sold a Honda commercial power washer with a GX engine. It was 16 years old and worked as well the day I sold it as it did the day I bought it. Back in 2006 I paid $1,500 + tax and you could have bought a Craftsman or other rand for less than 1/3 the price. Was mine three times as good? Maybe, but the masses would normally not spend the money to find out.
So not only are Honda mowers probably quite expensive but there are now many who do not mow heir own lawns any longer. Where I live now the HOA takes care of all outdoor maintenance, mowing, mulching, irrigation, etc. All I do is write a check 4 times a year. Couple that to the fact most company's manufacturing equipment today are going cordless / electric. I think for many residential homes (especially first time homeowners who know nothing about gasoline engines) the gas operated power equipment is sort of becoming a thing of the past. It will still be around the commercial environment for many years to come.
