I've posted this 686+ Mtn. Gun before - but I do love this revolver. It has a very smooth trigger and I can shoot it as well as any S&W I own.

feralmerril, other than not having Mountain Gun on the barrel (neither does the 629-2 Mountain Revolver) I don't see any difference

The mod 24 and the mod 624 4"ers are on my list!


Mickey D, 625 in 45 Colt no lock is the next on my list. I hope to find one as nice as yours

Wouldn't my 4" M28-2 qualify as a mountain gun? It is a 4" N-frame and lacks only the words on the barrel.

I just have one, this 29-8. I put a regular 29 front sight on it, along with a Millett w/o rear. Also some Eagle "Heritage" grips. I think it makes a nice package.
